Our experiences
The love affair with Slovenia began in June 2007 after Nic and Clive had been to a wedding in Austria and decided to spend a few extra days discovering the neighbouring country. After a couple of nights in the beautiful town of Piran, visiting the stunning Skopje Caves and a stop in Ljubljana for a lunch by the canal side, they discovered Bled.
Bled had such a profound affect on them both, it prompted Clive to propose whilst rowing back across the lake from the magical island. After returning to the UK, they decided it would be a great place to have a holiday home. With Nic's brother Tim the initial plan of 2 bedroom apartment grew to the four bedroom house with its own apartment we have today!
The house was initially so run down and filthy it was christened the Crack House but after the help of Alf Moolman and Urban Urbanc and their team of builders who were willing to take on the refurbishment work - Mejnik House was created. Mejnik is the Slovenian word for Milestone - a combination of the owners surnames - Clive and Nicola Miller and Tim Stone.
